6th Call for the evaluation of the editorial and scientific quality of the Spanish scientific journals. ¿What's new?

Since 2007, and every other year, FECYT launches a call for evaluating  the editorial and scientific quality of the Spanish scientific journals. There is an expert panel that conducts the evaluation. It is based on an exhaustive and rigorous analysis of journals’ compliance with a set of formal editing criteria, plus the analysis of their visibility and impact levels. 

Currently  there are 298 journals awarded with the FECYT Quality Seal. The evaluation process has been improved throughout the years. In the 2018 call the following changes have been included:

1. Reinforcement of the open access and interoperability indicators, with the aim of increasing competitiveness and excellence among the journals that apply for the quality accreditation. 

2. Usage of a standardized thematic classification, similar to the one used by the Scientific Evaluation Agency.

3. Simplification of the participation process.
