Portuguese OpenAIRE workshop 2016 on "Open Science and the Funders' Requirements: Open Access and Open Data in H2020"

On the November 4th 2016 the Portuguese OpenAIRE national workshop was held in Coimbra, Portugal, at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra. The workshop was focused on the Open Access and Open Data Horizon 2020 requirements but also aimed to have a more comprehensive view of Open Science. With the title "Open Science and the Funders' Requirements: Open Access and Open Data in H2020", this half-day workshop had four main presentations from Stephen Curry, Imperial College London and Eloy Rodrigues and Pedro Principe from the University of Minho.

The first speaker was Stephen Curry, from the Imperial College London – Faculty of Natural Sciences. In his talk “From Open Access to Open Science” we have provided to the workshop participants a more comprehensive view of open science from a researcher perspective. The second part of the workshop was dedicated to detail the Open Access requirements in H2020, by Eloy Rodrigues (slides - in Portuguese)  and the Open Research Data Pilot, by Pedro Principe (slides - in Portuguese). At the end of the workshop and after a very participated discussion with several questions and answers, Pedro Principe have detailed the OpenAIRE services and tools to support project coordinators, researchers and research managers.

University of Minho, as the OpenAIRE National Open Access Desk in Portugal aimed to have a second workshop in the coming year in Lisbon. The workshop was part of the Portuguese and Brazilian Open Access Conference Program. UMinho documentation services thanks all the support of the University of Coimbra to this initiative.
