OpenAIRE DEVELOP Service: APIs to access the OpenAIRE Research Graph #OAWeek

International Open Access Week is a great opportunity to highlight the services that promote Open Science implementation. The OpenAIRE Develop service (https://develop.openaire.eu/) is a good example, enabling developers to realize services for scholarly communication and research analytics.

Designed for a more technical and developmental area, here you can find all the new features to access the metadata information space of OpenAIRE!
Within the OpenAIRE Research Graph API developers are now able to know and have access to the wide and vast scope of scholarly communication, along its lifecycle (research data, research software, publications, projects, organizations, etc) and above all, the semantic links between them!

OpenAIRE Graph Access API - A gateway to open research

The OpenAIRE Graph Access API enables developers to realize services for scholarly communication and research analytics.

By using the API, you can access the OpenAIRE Graph, a scholarly communication resource, i.e. a digital space where you can find information about objects of the scholarly communication life-cycle (publications, research data, research software, projects, organizations, etc.) and semantic links among them.

The service gives access to the OpenAIRE Graph via different protocols (OAI-PMH, HTTP API, SPARQL) to serve developers with different requirements and preferences.

The OpenAIRE Graph is created bi-monthly by:

Aggregating metadata from OpenAIRE's European and global network of validated content providers;
Enriching metadata by text mining and inference;
Collecting information from end-users.

OpenAIRE HTTP API: the APIs are free-to-use (no sign-up needed) by any third-party service.

Metadata license is CC-BY: the metadata records retuned by the service can be freely re-used by commercial and non-commercial partners under CC-BY license, hence as long as OpenAIRE is acknowledged as content provider.
