Europe is taking strategic action to secure its digital future. With the launch of LLMs4Europe, a flagship initiative funded by the Digital Europe Programme and coordinated by ALT-EDIC, over 70 partners from across the continent are uniting to develop open, trustworthy, and multilingual Large Language Models (LLMs) tailored to Europe's specific requirements. 

At the recent International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC25), OpenAIRE presented a lightning talk on "Combining Algorithms and Human Expertise: OpenAIRE's Entity Disambiguation Method." Delivered by Stefania Amodeo, the presentation highlighted OpenAIRE's innovative approach to maintaining high-quality metadata in the OpenAIRE Graph.

Our third Open Insights session, held on February 13, 2025, explored the role of institutional repositories in advancing Ireland’s goal of 100% Open Access. OpenAIRE’s Leonidas Pispiringas shared best practices for repository data integration into the OpenAIRE Graph, while Cillian Joy (University of Galway) highlighted collaborative efforts to enhance interoperability and metadata quality.

The FAIRFEST event, a key gathering for the Open Science community, recently hosted a presentation on the Research Discovery Graph (RDGraph) and the role of Persistent Identifiers (PIDs). The session, led by Carole Goble and over 40 experts, highlighted how RDGraph—an integral part of the OpenAIRE Graph—enhances research discovery and interoperability within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
