Unit - Directorate for ICT and joint services in higher education and research

Unit – ​the Norwegian Directorate​ for ICT and Joint Services ​in Higher Education & Research​​ provides governance of and access to shared ICT services. All based on collaboration with users. Unit supports 220 institutions grounded in a mission to innovate and be the driving force in digitalizing a knowledge-based Norway. Increasing use of ICT contribute to improvements of efficiency, quality and access to knowledge in client operations.

Our stakeholders expect solutions that will improve access to and quality of data. Unit provides efficiency, diversity, and robustness based on ministry strategies and sectoral initiatives. ​We scout for shared solutions that will give benefits. That is solutions based on knowledge and input from collaboration with participating Higher Education Institutions. 

Unit was established 2018 as a subordinate agency under the Ministry of Education and Research. ​We are 200 employees and manage an operations budget of 520 million NOK. The value of our portfolio of contracts is currently at 750 million NOK. We have offices in Trondheim and Oslo.
